You could never be stuck on finding some fun Amsterdam events, there is always something going on in this vibrant city. And luckily, for people like myself who love food; festivals and days out dedicated to yummy cuisines are very common here! Just last weekend The Amsterdam Coffee Festival came and went and I didn’t even get to so much as pass by on a tram due to a lil’ illness the past few days (poor me). How never, this is n fact an even bigger motivator for me to get out to at least one of the upcoming foodie events that is happening in the next few weeks.
Amsterdam Events for Food Lovers
Food Festival Amsterdam 24th-28th March 2016
Tomorrow the Food Festival Amsterdam kicks off. This event is free tomorrow for the opening day, and after that tickets are only €5 per day for the rest of the weekend. It seems like a really nice event to go to and it’s lucky that it is indoors as unfortunately, the weather hasn’t been great this week and won’t be getting much better. Which is why this is a perfect little indoor event to stop by to and sample some nice food. The videos from previous events are really cool, take a look at this one from last year if you like the idea of huge chocolate muffins, a delicious looking Antipasti board and a very pretty DJ.
For more information and to purchase tickets to this event, pop over to their official website here.
National Restaurant Week 30th March – 10th April 2016
Starting from next week, all of Holland will see happy diners experiencing exquisite food for a fraction of the price. For this fabulous event, many of the most sought after restaurants nationwide will invite guests to taste surprise dinner menus which will only cost €27.50 for 3 courses. Although, all is not as it seems as you will find supplementary charges for certain establishments like those in the ‘The Top 250’ or with Michelin Star status. With that said, it’s still far cheaper than the normal prices, so I say why not go for it? You can also avail of a 3-course lunch experience for €22.50.
In order to secure a place at one of these restaurants at this lovely price, you must make a reservation through the official National Restaurant Week website. On the site you will also find a list of participating businesses and get an idea of the kind of food that you may be surprised with.
Izakaya Supreme Brunch 3rd April 2016
As the website mentions, this isn’t your average brunch! These Izakaya Amsterdam events really do look like a spectacular place to be on a Sunday afternoon. With fabulous food and champagne flowing all while DJs and various entertainment acts buzz around you; I think you would want to stay in the night before if you’re attending this one. If the Izakaya back home in Dublin is anything to go by, this place is bound to be a lot of fun!
I would recommend getting a reservation in as soon as possible because anyone who is someone who lives for brunch will probably have their places booked by now. You can do so on their website, which I have linked above. Here’s a little taster of what you can expect…
For dinner during your time here, why not check out Mazzo just a 10 minute walk from Dam Square?
